Ajmer Pushkar Yatra
A 3-day Ajmer and Pushkar yatra from Jaipur or Delhi: the Ajmer Sharif Dargah, the Brahma Temple and the sacred lake
3 days, from Jaipur, from ₹14,999 per person
The Ajmer Pushkar Yatra is a three-day journey through two of the best-known sacred places of Rajasthan. In Ajmer, you visit the Ajmer Sharif Dargah, the shrine of the Sufi saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti, which welcomes pilgrims of every faith, and, from Jaipur, the Adhai Din Ka Jhonpra, one of the oldest mosques in India. In Pushkar you see the Brahma Temple, one of very few in India, the Savitri Mata Temple on the hill, and the sacred Pushkar Lake with its 52 ghats and the evening aarti.
You stay two nights in Pushkar, in Standard rooms, with breakfast included. The pace is easy, with a rest in the afternoon, and a free morning on the last day for the lake and the market. The Delhi start has a long drive of about 7 hours each way, and we arrive back in Delhi at night.
At the dargah, cover your head and dress modestly. At the Brahma Temple, phones and cameras are not allowed inside. The Pushkar Fair, around Kartik Purnima in November (the dates change each year), is extremely crowded and prices rise sharply, so please tell us if you plan to travel then.
