Srinivasa Mangapuram, Kalyana Venkateswara Temple
Srinivasa Mangapuram, Andhra Pradesh
Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy Temple at Srinivasa Mangapuram is a quiet temple about 12 km from Tirupati on the road to Madanapalle. By tradition, Lord Venkateswara stayed here with Goddess Padmavathi after their wedding, before returning to Tirumala. It is looked after by the TTD and is much calmer than the hill temple.
What to see and do
- Have darshan of Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy, shown with his consorts
- See the white gopuram and the large temple tank
- Visit the small shrines in the courtyard, including the Anjaneya Swamy shrine
- Enjoy a slower pace than at Tirumala
Ideal for
- Pilgrims who want a quieter temple after Tirumala
- Couples and families interested in the wedding story
- Visitors who like quiet temples
Good to know
- Timings are not confirmed, so check locally
- It is about 12 km from Tirupati, so it is usually visited on the way back from Tirumala
- Dress modestly; footwear is left outside
- Crowds are smaller than at Tirumala, except on festival days
- Phones and bags may be restricted inside, so ask at the gate
Spiritual significance
Srinivasa Mangapuram is remembered as the place where the Lord is said to have stayed after his marriage. Its name and its temple keep that wedding story alive for pilgrims who come from Tirumala.
Why it matters
- The wedding story: the temple is tied to the marriage of Venkateswara and Padmavathi
- A calmer visit: much quieter than the hill temple
- A TTD temple: part of the same pilgrimage network
- An easy stop on the way back: close to the Tirupati road
