Good to know
- Reported timings are about 3 am to 1 pm and 4:30 pm to 9:30 pm, with an afternoon break, so check locally
- Kerala's old temples have strict dress codes, reported as a mundu or dhoti for men and a saree or set-mundu for women, with no Western wear, so check the rules at the gate, and men usually go bare-chested
- Phones generally have to be left at the cloakroom, and facilities may vary, so carry few valuables
- Sources differ on non-Hindu entry (inner sanctum or the whole temple), so check before you plan
- Expect long queues on weekends, festivals and auspicious days
